I am here, Pope John Paul II.
I know you don't believe the way I do. I also know that
you thought very highly of me.
Well, I am still engaged in my efforts to make for peace
and understanding. I saw very clearly that it is vital
that people of differing beliefs must learn to cooperate
with and love each other, and that the only time we should
protest is if freedom and dignity are threatened.
I know you don't believe in most conservative positions,
particularly religious ones. But you, like so many others,
have learned to live in a world where people have such
sharply different ways of thinking and acting.
As you have gathered, this message is an appeal for world
peace. I hope that my followers will be able to overlook
the Catholic Church's condemnation of mediumship, though I
know this may not be possible.
I continue to support my Catholic beliefs over here. There is a Creator who loves us and who directs the affairs
of men.
Pope John Paul II (Latin: Ioannes Paulus PP. II), (Italian: Giovanni Paolo II), born Karol Józef Wojtyla
(help·info) (May 18, 1920, Wadowice, Poland April 2, 2005, Vatican City) reigned as Pope of the
Roman Catholic Church from October 16, 1978, until his death more than 26 years later, making his the second-longest
pontificate in modern times after Pius IX's 31-year reign. He was the only Polish Pope to date, and the first
non-Italian Pope since the Dutch Adrian VI in the 1520s. He is one of only four people to have been named to
the Time 100 for both the 20th century and for a year in the 21st. (Source:
