I am here, William Shakespeare.
When my mother recommended me to Beauchamps Court to act as schoolmaster,
she referred Sir Fulke Greville to one of my teachers at the school
I attended, and this reference was successful.
I waited about a year after my twins were born before I moved to
London, because I had to get my affairs in order. It provided a
necessary time of adjustment for Anne and me. Also, the confirmation
for my first residence in London did not come immediately.
You read that the Shakespearean scholar Douglas Hamer said that
I "reappear[ed] in 1587 as a 'player' ... in the service of
Sir Thomas Hesketh in Lancashire." But the year is wrong, even
though yes, I did act with Sir Hesketh's group.
