I am here, John Adams.
The Republic was in danger in my presidency with the threat of war
with France. I feel I weathered that crisis well, though I went
down to defeat. It was a very difficult time for the young nation,
but God saw us through.
Now, a greater threat to the Republic looms, one from within. This
threat is not a surprise to those alert to human nature and American
history, but the threat is real, and so the Creator will set in
motion helpful events to restore the country.
It is not romantic naiveté with which Americans like you
view the founding of our nation: it is, rather, idealism, plus a
healthy dose of faith in the Divine.
All we founding fathers readily admit our faults way back then.
In your contemporary world, the issue of freedom, with which our
country was born, has come under attack because of internal power
plays that threaten civil liberties. This also occurred in my term
of office with the Alien and Seditions Act. I see a parallel, though
at the same time, I wish to defend the country against the present
threat.
The country will survive such calamities as the Patriot Act, and
America will shine as she was originally intended to do so.
John Adams, Jr. (October 30, 1735 July 4, 1826) was the
second President of the United States (17971801). He also
served as America's first Vice President (17891797). He was
defeated for re-election in the "Revolution of 1800" by
Thomas Jefferson. Adams was also the first President to reside in
the newly built White House in Washington, D.C., which was completed
in 1800. (Source : Wikipedia)
