I am here, Jay Gould.
Yes, it is I, the American industrialist who sold his soul for
money. And where did it get me?
Of course, on earth, any appeals to saving my soul would have been
met by me with condescending scorn and disbelief.
I see very clearly how the sort of mentality I represented is literally
ruining our country. I was a terrible example of what not to do,
and those who follow my path will find that it leads to nothing
but unhappiness and misery.
Jason "Jay" Gould (May 27, 1836
December 2, 1892) was an American financier who became a
leading American railroad developer and speculator. Long vilified
as a stereotypical "robber baron", modern historians have
discounted various myths about him and more positively evaluated
