I am here, Jesus.
Let me comment further on the subject of making money, as you need
further clarification.
Everything depends on the soul, and that means, on each person's
soul condition. Making money is a very important activity in the
life of mortals, and it is subject to the moral law just as is everything
else mortals do.
I mentioned the example of having a bestseller or making a successful
movie. But these must be modified as well. For suppose the book
encourages something sinful in people, or the movie exploits violence.
I gave those two examples to present the idea that certain ways
of making money are perfectly acceptable to God. Your brain was
thinking of something innocent, so that's what came through at the
time. Since you've been considering what I said, you are now open
to an enlarged view of the subject.
You are a progressive soul, so truth comes to you in stages, each
step building on the previous one. So we meet you where you are.
And this is exactly as it has to be.
The point I was making is that there is nothing inherently sinful
in making money, provided that it is not earned through sin, and
that the wealth is shared and not hoarded.
We are not involved in schemes for making a lot of money. That
is not our area of concern. We always focus on our charges' spiritual
welfare. But as I said previously, money matters do concern us when
they are vital to our charges' welfare. You've experienced this
care over a lifetime.
You know from your Jewish studies that your native Judaism considers
material welfare to be very important. That is why St. Francis'
approach seems alien to you.
But in the long run, the most important factor is not how much
or how little money a person has, but, what is that person's soul
condition, and how is this affected by his or her financial situation?
And so, for example, it has happened many times that true believers
who have truly understood God's laws have found money coming to
them where it was greatly needed. Your experience has been the same.
When a mortal puts God's laws above earthplane thinking about money,
then the higher laws work to provide for that person's material
welfare. That's what I meant when I said, "But seek ye first
the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall
be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
