I am here, Jesus.
Let me now discuss your own relation to the subject of material
abundance, for it will be good for you to gain clarity. You have
been deeply affected by the famous verse in the Bible, "the
love of money is the root of all evil." At the same time, your
experience with the Unity movement has given you a contrary message
- that material abundance is to be desired, since it brings provisions
that can make a life rich and full. I know you realize you are frankly
confused, and I would like to clear up, finally, your confusion.
And I dare say, others will benefit from what I will say as well.
First, let me say that at least part of the confusion arises from
a childhood where you were given the clear message from your father
that you could not be accepted as you were. This led you to feel
that you were not worthy, and were therefore not deserving of happiness
and success.
But as you grew in knowledge, you realized that that way of thinking
no longer served you and had to be discarded, which is what you
did. But there are still traces of that early pain, hence your confusion
and unease.
It is a fact that at this time in your life, you have required
these funds you now have since you are not working regularly. The
fact that you have more than ever before simply points to the fact
that God is signaling you in this symbolic way and saying, "you
can do your dreams and be happy." It has not escaped your notice
that you are now living in one of the wealthiest parts of the richest
country on Earth (even though this wealth is distributed grossly
unfairly). Your rent increased as well, so it should be clear to
you that God is simply providing for your needs.
Now let me discuss the concept of abundance, for a proper understanding
of this word will clarify what I mean. You are acquainted with the
famous verse in the Bible when I talked about having life abundantly.
What I meant is that the Creator is generous in His desire to lavish
on His children abundance. But I meant it in a spiritual sense.
I was referring as well to an abundant soul, one who fills the world
with generous goodness and who also inspires others to do the same.
Your country has had a mindset of material abundance. But even
though there has also been a profound religious sense, for many,
the pursuit of money became a thing in and for itself. That has
been the very problem. Do you see? For wherever the material disconnects
from the spiritual, there has been trouble.
So what is to be done? You are searching for a method to approach
the problem so it can be resolved. You have just had a wonderful
conversation with your wonderful young friend Naveed Mansoori. He
encouraged you to have a sincere interest in those you would like
to help. He also suggested that you hold back your own views and
perceptions to engage with the other. Well, this is a way of showing
love, is it not? And where love is, God is there as well.
