I am here, Malcolm X.
Yes, it is I. In one sense, I am still working
passionately for the causes I held dear, but there is no
violence or stridency in me, only love. I have seen
evidence of so much love from spirits who were white on
Earth, that I simply can no longer think the way I thought
as a mortal, that is, before I saw the light.
I embrace now the whole human family, no matter what is
the color of their skin. I realize that all the hatred and
prejudice of humanity come from not loving oneself, and
that, given the opportunity, any person can change.
I am very different from what I once was, even though I
fight for essentially the same things. But now, it is not
just African Americans I champion - it is the whole human
race.
Malcolm X, born Malcolm Little, also known as Detroit Red and El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Omaha, Nebraska, May
19, 1925 February 21, 1965 in New York City) was a black Muslim Minister and National Spokesman for the
Nation of Islam. He was also founder of the Muslim Mosque, Inc. and the Organization of Afro-American Unity.
