There is some confusion in your mind about the two
Talmuds.
Well, the Palestinian Talmud was written down after my
death, and the Babylonian Talmud, later still.
This does not change the fact that they had exactly the same source in the thinking of the rabbis. You have
more access to the latter, so I am drawing on that version in these sermons.
Yes, the two Talmuds can present different thoughts, but
the same values pervaded them both, and both had a common
source in the profound caring about how to live life
correctly according to the Hebrew God. It is this
beautiful value system that I am emphasizing, in showing
that my values were akin to theirs.
