Reconciling the Padgett Messages to the Bible

A web site has been created by Rev. Eva Peck and as she has a very strong Bible background, she has taken on the task of relating the Padgett Messages to the Bible with some enthusiasm. I would therefore recommend if this is your interest, you have a look at her site, in particular this page. Previously I used only to link to the Rev. Mark Kramer’s site here, but as explained at the end of this page, that site no longer exists. So this is what Mark Kramer used to say:

“The LORD is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.” (Lamentations 3:25)

Do you believe that to believe the Bible, is to believe It whole? The authority for which is given in Matthew 5:18:

“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled.”

And we are sternly warned not to believe anything beyond the Gospel. Such is the admonition of Galatians 1:8:

“But even if we, or an Angel from Heaven, preach any other Gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”

But if to believe in the Bible, is to believe in it whole, then Peter was right too, in 2 Peter 1:4, when he wrote, quite literally, that:

“ye might be partakers of the Divine nature”.

In the True Gospel Revealed Anew by Jesus, as channeled through the exceptional mediumship of James E. Padgett (1) at the beginning of the twentieth century, it has been revealed how every human soul can receive the Divine Love, the Substance of the Soul of God, by earnestly praying for its bestowal through heartfelt soul-longing, and how this Divine Love will destine Man to become an inhabitant of the Celestial Heavens, above Paradise even, where he will have Eternal Life as a Divine Angel (2).

We believe that these Revelations, and the instructions as to how to receive this Divine Love, was the true mission of Jesus in coming to Earth, rather than the commonly accepted Orthodox version of salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice and death on the cross.

Naturally, you may feel shocked by such a Revelation. Or you may feel you are being deceived, and led astray from the one true Bible, because there are portions of the Bible that we do not believe in, and you feel that one cannot just arbitrarily choose which parts of the Bible to believe. But to you, whose unshakable belief is in the entire Bible, I ask you then that you not arbitrarily cast aside these words of 2 Peter 1:4 either, but that you instead wholeheartedly believe in them!

If you do, I would then like to take you on a small Biblical Tour, to demonstrate that the Truths revealed in the Padgett Messages are not without Biblical foundation, and that, in fact, the key notions of the Padgett Messages can be found in The Bible too. Likely to your great astonishment, you will then see that many of the same words you have been reading for years, when interpreted from the undistorted perspective of the original Gospel which Jesus taught when on Earth, are in perfect harmony with the Padgett Messages, and that the New Testament is verily replete with very direct references to the Divine Love, and instructions on how to receive It.

In the hundreds of Padgett Messages, many excerpts and concepts of which I have woven into these Biblical Tours, you will find a series of astounding Revelations, the likes of which you will assuredly never again encounter in your lifetime. Read them with your soul, and your soul will grab hold of the Divine Truths they contain. Such veracity cannot be established by the mere operations of the mind, because:

“The natural Man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14)

The Divine Love, bestowed upon Man in response to sincere prayer (3), is a very special favor of God, bestowed upon us through His Mercy and desire that we become, in truth, His children. A beautiful Gift, of which we can read in Ephesians 1:4:

“According as He hath chosen us (4) in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and without blame before Him in Love.“

The Divine Love was offered to our First Parents, who regrettably refused this wondrous Gift in their pride and arrogance; we call this event the Fall, since the option to partake of the Divine Love no longer existed with their refusal. Two thousand years ago, however, God reinstated the Gift of receiving the Divine Love, and sent His Son, Jesus of Nazareth, free of sin and error, to bring Mankind this Good News. Jesus brought humanity the happy tidings that every soul praying for, and receiving, the Divine Love could have Eternal Life in the Celestial Kingdom of God. We can proudly read so in Ephesians 2:6:

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in Heavenly Places (5) in Christ Jesus.“

Unlike the First Parents, Jesus did not turn down this marvellous Gift, and through fervent prayer so became the first human (6) ever to have possessed the Divine Love, the Substance of the Soul of God. We can read so in 1 John 5:11-12:

“And the witness is this, that God has given us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the Life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the Life.”

Is the Divine Love truly the Essence of our Father? The strongest Biblical proof for this can be found in Romans 8:37-39. Here Paul tells us, that once a person has received the Divine Love, from a Pentecostal Fire to the smallest scintilla, it can never ever be taken away from him:

“In all things we are more than conquerors, through Him that loved us. Neither life or death, nor angels, nor principalities or powers nor things present or things to come (…) shall separate us from the Love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.“ (7)

This is an interesting passage. Paul does not generally state that we are loved by God, but he talks about the Gift of receiving the Divine Love in terms of personal possession. And that is understating it; for not only does he attach the attribute of personal ownership to the Divine Love, but he speaks of It as a true thing of Substance, that merges with our soul, and in such a way that “neither life or death, nor angels, nor principalities or powers nor things present or things to come” shall be able to separate us from the Divine Love. And to underline that the Divine Love is not a mere God-owned Divine sentiment of feeling Love towards His Children, but instead the real Essence of the Father, Paul gives the “Love of God” locality too: “which is in Christ Jesus”.

The more we receive His Divine Love, the closer we will near God. Thus we find Jesus declaring:

“I have come that they may have Life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

Jesus has received His Divine Love in the highest degree; as a result, of all human souls, Jesus is closest to God, and has been appointed Master over the Celestial Heavens (John 10:29, “My Father, who gave them me, is greater than all,” ) so “that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18) We believe this to be in accordance with the word of John 14:6, “I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Every soul that has received the Divine Love is sinless to the degree it has received the Divine Love (8). Since the Divine Love, the Substance of God, merges with our soul when we obtain It, that Divine part of our soul is then, of course, sinless ( “incorruptible” , I Peter 1:23). This process will continue if we receive more of the Divine Love, until such time our soul will be so replete with the Divine Love that it experiences a complete transformation, the New Birth (9). From that moment on, we will then be true children of God, and no longer of our Earthly parents; or, as we read in John 1:13, “children born not of natural descent (…), but born of God.” And echoed in 2 Corinthians 5:17, ” Jesus’ teachings on Earth was to show the way in which everyone could receive a New Birth of the soul. And this is what Jesus tried to explain to Nicodemus, a Pharisee, who did not understand that until a man receives this New Birth (John 3:1-21) he cannot possibly enter into the Kingdom of Heaven (10). And so, Paul vehemently calls out: “Be filled with the Spirit!” (Ephesians 5:18,) for “the fruit of the Spirit is Love.” (Galatians 5:22)

Ephesians 5:18 reads in full, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit!” The imperative phrase “be filled” (plhrousqe) is one word in the original Greek: “pleroo” , which means to “render full” , to “fill up”. The Greek verb appears in present tense, and not the aorist; it is an ongoing instruction: we are to be continually filled with the Spirit. However, the verb is also in the passive voice, which means, in perfect keeping with the Padgett Messages, that being filled with the Spirit is something done unto us by God, and to which we submit. Paul is telling us, not to merely be possessed of the Spirit as opposed to being drunk with wine, but he is, in effect, saying, “See to it that you are continually, and constantly, being filled up with the Spirit!”

Will God really give us the Divine Love? He most certainly will, “For everyone who asketh receiveth,” as we can read it Luke 11:10. Just to demonstrate the immense willingness of the Father to bestow His Divine Love upon us, Jesus first asks us, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone?” Then he invites us to imagine that if even we, born only with the natural love, know how to give good gifts unto our children, then “how much shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask?” All we need is faith (11) and earnest soul-longing, “for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him,” as promised in Hebrews 11:6. But when our souls then “diligently seek Him,” Romans 5:5 tells us “hope maketh not ashamed, because the Love of God is shed abroad (ekkecutai, it has been, and continues to be shed abroad,) in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” And lest any man think His unspeakable Gift of Salvation is only available to a handful of elected people, or peoples, let us lay to heart the words of 1 Corinthian 12:13, “For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, wether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

Can Man then really partake of the Divine Essence of the Father? Yes, and in 2 Peter 1:4 we hear Peter say so quite literally, that “ye might be partakers of the Divine nature.” (di wn ta timia kai megista hmin epaggelmata dedwrhtai ina dia toutwn genhsqe qeias koinwnoi fusews apofugontes ths en tw kosmw en epiqumia fqoras) As it was also written in 1 John 4:13, “This is the proof that we remain in Him, and He in us, that He has given us a share in His Spirit.” So beautiful is this. It says so, right there in plain sight, in 1 John 4:13 and 2 Peter 1:4, that we can all partake of His Divine Love; and that we will palpably know it when He has “given us of His Spirit” , as an older translation says (12). It says so, right there in plain sight, in 1 John 4:13 and 2 Peter 1:4, that the Divine Love will make us at-One with God ( “we remain in Him, and He in us” ). This is also strongly reiterated in Romans 8:16, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

Many a person misreads Romans 8:16 as though it read, “The Spirit Himself bears witness to our spirit that we are children of God.” But that the text really says He “bears witness with our spirit” (auto to pneuma summarturei tw pneumati hmwn oti esmen tekna qeou,) is made clear by the Greek verb “summartureo” , a compound verb which has a preposition prefixed to it. It means: “to bear witness with” , “to bear joint witness”, “to corroborate by concurrent evidence”. The preposition ( “sum-” ) clearly means “along with” , and not “to”. And so, our spirit, through its possession of the Essence of the Father, bears joint witness with The Spirit Himself that we have become part of Him as a result of having taken on a portion of His Divinity. Just as it says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same Image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Behold then Man beholding the Father, from glory to glory, as if looking into a mirror [glass]. Rejoice! We can truly become His children, and One with Him in very Substance, and not in likeness only, as we can proudly read in the great Pauline text of 1 Corinthian 6:17, “Whosoever is joined to the Lord becomes One Spirit with Him.” Such is the way of our loving Father, that He seeks no atonement, but at-onement.

Jesus tells us, very specifically, that we may all become at-One with the Father, as we can read in John 17:22-23, “And the glory which Thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be One, even as we are One: I in them, and Thou in me, that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me.” The glory “which Thou gavest me,” by the way, was not a constituent part of Jesus’ soul-makeup at creation, but had to be acquired by Jesus in the exact same manner as prescribed for all humans: by soulful longings for Its inflowing. Revelation 3:22, “To him that overcometh, will I grant to sit with Me on My throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father on His throne.” By saying “even as I also overcame,” Jesus says two important things: that first, he was not born overcome, so to speak, but had to overcome himself; and second, that we too can overcome as he also overcame, and dwell with him in the Celestial Heavens (13).

Although Jesus’ Magnificence surpasses that of all souls, and his Love is beyond all Earthly comprehension, Jesus himself emphatically declared that his mission (14) was to bring Mankind the Good News that the Gift of receiving the Divine Love was not just meant for him alone, but that the Father had ordained that every human soul could partake of the Divine Essence too. We read so in John 17:26, “And I have declared unto them Thy name, and will declare it: that the Love wherewith Thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” And we hear Paul repeat this in Romans 8:29, “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined (15) to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Will please note, that Paul does not say that Jesus was the “only-born” to be allowed the transformation into the Image of the Father (the New Birth,) but that Jesus was merely meant to be a “firstborn among many brethren”.

And once the Divine Love pours into our soul, as It did with Jesus, we will have formed our own personal bond with our Father, through His Essence, and we will know He sent us this wondrous Gift, as we can read in Galatians 4:6, “For God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts by which we cry: Abba! (Father)”

I give you in closing the word of Paul (Ephesians 3:17-19,) as he was praising God and praying on behalf of the Church in Ephesus, “And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you (16) as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous Love and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high His Love really is; and to experience this Love for yourselves, Though It is so great that you will never see the end of It or fully know or understand It. And so at last you will be filled up with God Himself.”
