I am here, Franklin Roosevelt.
As you read my statements, you are struck by my knowledge of history and by my belief in what has become known as American ideals.
And this is all true. But I was not a saint. Now, you have had the thought that I was zealous for the welfare of the country, and that is true. But I also partook of a mentality that was not of the highest.
